We never cut corners when it comes to patient care, and treat everyone as if they are a part of our own family.

Our orthodontic treatments include:

Orthodontic Treatment for Kids

It is recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists that a child first visit the orthodontist at age 7. At this time, the first adult molars erupt, establishing the back bite. Evaluating your child at this time allows us to examine their front-to-back and side-to-side tooth relationships. In addition, we can check for the possibility of open bites, overbites, crowding, gummy smiles, spacing issues, and other common problems that may arise. A timely screening increases the chance of a healthy smile for your child.

If early orthodontic or Phase 1 orthodontics are right for your child, we will work to make sure they are comfortable and confident throughout their treatments. Early orthodontic intervention can reduce the treatment time for braces, create facial symmetry by promoting jaw growth, and create room for erupting teeth. In many cases, orthodontic treatments are not immediately necessary, and we can use this time to monitor and determine the opportune time to start treatment.

Phase II Adolescent Treatment

Phase II treatments are normal orthodontic treatments, typically involving braces once the permanent teeth have erupted. Braces straighten the permanent teeth and finish the process of correctly aligning a patient’s jaw.

Children and adolescents who have undergone both Phase I and Phase II treatments are more likely to have long-lasting results. It is our goal to help your child achieve a healthy, radiant, and beautiful smile for life.

Orthodontic Treatment for Adults

The team and doctor at Wigal Orthodontics are proud to serve an increasing number of adult patients looking to improve their smile and dental health. We offer a full range of treatments designed specifically for adults. We are committed to helping you achieve a healthier bit and dramatically different smile.

We use modern techniques and appliances to reduce discomfort, shorten treatment time, and decrease the frequency of visits. Treatment options for adults include traditional metal braces, translucent ceramic braces, or Invisalign® transparent aligners.

Metal Braces

Traditional or metal braces are the most common and popular type of dental braces. This type of braces are permanently bonded to the front of a patient’s teeth. They straighten teeth using metal archwires and brackets. Today’s metal braces are more comfortable, lighter, and more attractive than metal braces used in the past.

Ceramic Braces

Made out of clear material, ceramic braces are a popular treatment option for adults. This type of orthodontic treatment is less noticeable than metal braces, as the ceramic material blends in with the teeth’s natural color. Ceramic braces are larger and more brittle than metal braces and the elastic ties can sometimes discolor between orthodontic visits.

The Invisalign® system provides patients with a series of invisible, removable aligners to gradually straighten the teeth. The aligners are custom-made for each patient and are finely calibrated to move a patient’s teeth into the desired position. A patient’s aligners are created used advanced 3D computer imaging technology. One of the biggest advantages to this system is it is a discrete way to straighten your teeth, while still being able to eat what you want.

Invisalign® Teen

Like the original Invisalign® system, Invisalign® Teen offers adolescents with the same, revolutionary alternative to metal or ceramic braces. If your teen is a candidate for this treatment option, they will receive a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners. This eliminates the need for pesky wires and brackets, and can help them improve their smile discreetly. One of the biggest advantages of this system is it allows patients to eat and drink what they want, without fear of getting it stuck in their brackets or wires.

To ensure your teen stays committed to their program, each aligner comes with a built-in Blue Dot Wear Indicator. This serves as a signal to parents, doctors, and patients if the aligners are being worn long enough, or if the patient needs to increase the amount of time they wear their aligners. Another benefit of this program is it comes with 6 free replacement aligners, so if your teen lose or breaks an aligner, we’ve got you covered.
