Wigal Orthodontics provides orthodontic care to patients of all ages. We serve patients out of two state-of-the art facilities in Heath and Mount Vernon, OH. From our start, we have been committed to providing patients with a comprehensive range of services including braces, retainers, Invisalign® and more. Our practice is patient focused and dedicated to provide individualized care to each patient. We take the time to get to know each patient, their needs, and design treatment plans to meet their goals, and provide them with results that complement their facial structure and give them long lasting, functional results.
Your First Visit
Our practice accepts patients new to orthodontic care and those who are looking to transfer care. We strive to create customized treatment plans for each patient, and spend extra time to ensure everything is right for our patients. We never cut corners and treat our patient as if they are members of our own family.
During your first visit, we will take some time to get to know you, and evaluate your dental health records. Our team will take photos of your mouth, plaster impressions of your teeth, and X-rays. We will check for overbites, open bites, gummy smiles, and potential crowding. This information provides us with the basis for your treatment plan. We will discuss your treatment options and develop a plan that addresses your needs or continues your current care plan.
To save time before your appointment, please download and fill out the Patient Forms below. In addition to filling out these forms, please bring identification and your insurance card to your appointments.
The cost of your treatment depends on your individual care plan and the services you are receiving. We strive to provide each patient with affordable, high quality treatments. To help orthodontic treatments fit into your budget, we offer a complimentary initial exam to inform you of the best options for you and your child.
We offer a number of payment plans, including interest-free financing through our office, low down payment options, and we are an in-network provider on many area insurance plans and accept most insurances. We accept most major credit cards. Our office staff will handle all claims and processing to maximize your benefits, which also helps expedite processing.
Have an Orthodontic Emergency? Let Us Help!
If you are experiencing severe pain, swelling or bleeding, please call us immediately, even outside regular practice hours. We will then direct you toward our after-hours care. Luckily, the majority of issues that arise can be addressed without visiting the office. Even if the pain subsides, it’s still important you call our office so we can complete the repair. Not repairing your orthodontics appliances can delay results and lead to increased time in braces.
In the meantime, please visit the guide below from The American Association of Orthodontics for simple orthodontics solutions and recommendations.
A Direct Injury To The Mouth? Call Us!
Taking a direct impact to your mouth can not only damage your teeth, but also your orthodontic appliance. It’s important to get X-rays to identify the extent of the injury. You’ll likely visit your family dentist first, and then schedule an appointment with us.
Is Something Loose or Broken?
It’s imperative you keep track of how the wires and brackets of your braces look and feel between visits. Although uncommon, they can become loose or break. If that’s the case, please call our office immediately and do not wait until your next scheduled appointment. This will ensure you receive the best care and that your orthodontic appliance is fitting and working properly.
My Mouth Hurts!
There’s an adjustment period when beginning new appliances or having adjustments made. Typically, you’ll experience soreness in your mouth and sensitivity to pressure for up to five days. We recommend applying an oral pain reliever such as Orabase to the affected area. If the pain doesn’t subside, use Tylenol or Advil.
Can I Come See You Today?
If you have an orthodontic concern, please call our office. We do schedule time for repairs throughout the day, so we may be able to schedule you in during business hours. However, calling beforehand allows us to identify the urgency of the issue and determine the necessary time needed for your specific appointment.
